Evil Mermaid

I think I am going to put this card in the Epic Fail pile! I got this awesome freebie from Simply B Stamps for their Freebie challenge. I had a choice of the good mermaid or the evil mermaid. I chose the evil one thinking it would be a good challenge. Well, I just don't think I have dark, evil, creepy in me when it comes to crafting. About the only thing good about this card is possibly the coloring.

The card base is a turquoise color from Recollections. The rocks are actually clouds that I cut out from the Cricut using the paper dolls for everyday cartridge. The mermaid is from simply B stamps and she is colored with oil pencils. The rock arch is a crude sketch I did quickly to add some interest in the background. The skulls and rib cage were free coloring pages. The key is from the dollar isle at Michaels and the twine is from my stash. The "water" was done with oil pencils.

Even though this is not the best work I have done, I am still going to enter it onto 2 contests:
1.  Simply Betty Stamps: Good vs. Evil
2. Outlaws Thursday Challenge: Bingo

Have a great night everyone!

  2. I quite like the idea of a sailor-eating mermaid! I think that rock arch was genius; I doubt I could have come up with a scene that makes sense...

  3. You make me giggly... I like what Tina said so many people and myself create the mermaid cards and they are just the cutest images and the most beautiful but how they got started was sailor eating and so evil. The scene you created is awesome love the arch, so creative to use clouds for the landing. Your coloring is wonderful. You really did a fantastic job on your card.

  4. I love the scene you have set here, she is a real 'Siren' and therefore deliciously evil!
