Birdie Shadowbox

Today has been better than yesterday. More dizzy today, but much less pain. So, I decided to work my way through the dizziness and finish the Bye Bye Birdie piece I started last week, I think it was. Here is the finished project:
Both the rose and rose bud are hand made. The large rose was made from the Cricut cartridge Giant roses. The bud was made from the Cricut essentials cartridge. The bird is Bird3 from ribbons and rosettes.

So, with the background. I tore a page out of a dictionary I had from high school and distressed the edges with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo ink. Then lightly when over the page with a pretty dry sponge with Vintage Photo on it.

Then I added the rose and clock rub ons. The rub ons are from Ruby Rock-It and are the Avalon collection.

Next I created the branches. I added some Mod Podge where I wanted the branches to go. Then I pretty much saturated some packaging paper with Mod Podge and manipulated the paper until I was satisfied with the look then put more Mod Podge in place. When it was completely dry, I painted it with Tattered Angels Cork glimmer mist. When that I was dry, I went over it by rubbing some gold metallic pain over it with my finger, just to kind of highlight it.

I then created the rose. I will do a tutorial on it here sooner or later. Once it was created, I chose a spot and adhered it with hot glue. I then cut out the leaves from the Ultimate Creative Sampler Cartridge. I ran them through the embosser with the Cuttlebug D'Vine Swirls folder and inked the embossed areas. The stem was colored with a brown marker then painted with Cork glimmer mist and adhered them once they were dry.

I then created the bud from a 5 petal flower and adhered it to the page after placing the leaves.

Behind the bird is a tag that has been grunged up with gesso, crumpled up, and the high areas inked with Vintage Photo. Once the bid was cut, I inked the edges with Vintage Photo. It is adhered down with 3 layers of mounting tape.

I hope you find it as pretty as I do. I think this is one of the prettier creations of mine. I do plan to put this into a shadow box, I just need to find one that fits.
