Let Your Spirit Soar

I love Balloons! I know, where did that come from right? FCCB's challenge this week is to use kites or balloons. So, I got excited because I love balloons. Initially, I tried to make a 3D hot air balloon that was also a gift box, but I go so frustrated, I almost tore it up and threw it away. But, I put it aside and it is waiting for me when I get the gumption to try it again. So, I went back to the drawing board.

My mind then went to the balloon launches we used to have in elementary school. We used to put our names and the address of the school in a helium filled balloon and ask that who ever found it, write us a letter so we could see how far it went. Then the whole class would go outside and let them go. Yeah, you couldn't do that today, too many perverts out there. Kind of sad really. But, I digress. I remember the look of all those balloons in the air. It was beautiful, so I though I would try to come up with something similar. This is the finished product:
The balloons were cut from the beyond birthdays Cricut cartridge. The clouds were cut from the Disney Pooh and Friends cartridge. The balloons are interactive. Moving the card causes the balloons to move:

The balloons are mounted on small strips of acetate that I cut from the packaging that one of my shadow boxes came in. I then drew the strings of the balloons on with a black Sharpie.
This card can be very versatile and would be excellent for a child's birthday. So, enjoy and let your spirit soar!

C&C Welcome!
