A card and a tag.

I have two things to share today. One is a card. The cue for the challenge at CASology is:

The first thing that came to my mind when I saw it was the Disney movie. But, after looking at some of the other entries, I wasn't the only one with that idea. So, I decided to take some time and think about it. Then, after a while, Winston Churchill's quote, "Never, never, never give up" came to mind. I decided to use it and came up with this"
The card stock is from recollections. The grass is ribbon from studio g. I doodled the leaves and stems. The petals were cut from a Cricut cartridge. Would you believe they are Piglet's ears? I'm still not back to 100%, but each day is better.

OK, on to the tag. The challenge at My Craft Spot is tags. I immediately knew I wanted to try my hand at a vintage tag. So, here it is:
I'll give some closer views on the details here in a few minutes. The very bottom paper is a piece of cream card stock, that I crumpled up and rubbed vintage photo over then went over with a dry paper towel. Then I sprayed it was Tattered Angels Crushed Shells glimmer mist. The next 2 layers are from the DCWV Four Seasons Stack. Both layers were distressed similarly to the bottom most layer. The dress form is a digital stamp from Free Vintage Digital Stamps (http://freevintagedigistamps.blogspot.com/2011/12/free-vintage-digi-stamp-paris-dress.html) The rolled roses are hand made, the bright pink rose buds are from recollections, the rose in the upper right hand corner is hand made, and I have no idea who made the daisies as they are a garage sale find. Now for some closer looks
The pink necklace is made of flat back pearls I bought from the dollar isle at Michael's. The dream is a metal tag I also bought in the dollar isle at Michael's. I distressed the tag by going over it with vintage photo distress paint. I waited a few minutes for it to dry, then I wiped most of it off with a paper towel. I grunged it up a bit more with some gold paint on the edges. The paper for the dress also came from the DCWV Four Seasons stack. The skirt I used a modified iris fold. The belt is a box pleat trim I bought at Hobby Lobby. The same trim is also used on the left side of the tag; you can see it peeking out from behind the dress. The rose is from Stampin' Up and sponged with Regal Rose Ink also from Stampin' Up. The big bling is from a very tacky necklace I found at good will and have parted out for different crafts.

This picture shows the upper right hand corner of the tag. The top most rose and the rolled roses are hand made. The small roses are from Michael's. The gold circle is also from the same tacky necklace but has been grunged up with some white paint. The button in the middle of the circle is actually an antique brad from Stampin' Up. The glass pearls I won on Tophatter. If you haven't used it for supplies, check it out. You can get stuff for a steal if you pay attention.
This shows the lower left of the tag. I decided to cut the base of the dress form off and use a vintage crown from Michael's for the base. You can also see some pink and cream flat back pearls. I got these from My Paper Passion on Zibbet for almost nothing. The lace I got at Michael's with a 40% of coupon. And again, you can see the box pleat trim from Hobby Lobby. If I remember correctly, I bought the trim at a 50% off sale.
Again, the rolled roses are hand made, the glass bead won on Tophatter, and the small roses from Michael's. The metal butterfly is Maya Roads. I bought it on sale from scrapbook.com. Scrapbook.com is an awesome site, they have great sales and a great clearance section.
Here you can see a fleur de lis peeking out between two flowers.
A closer look at the bottom of the tag.

Thanks for sticking around for a lengthy post. Hope you all have a great day. Please feel free to leave comments, questions, concerns, whatever.
