CAS Anniversary Card

There are 2 challenges going on @ Outlawz that I entered this card into:
1.) Greeting Cards: Silver/Gold Wedding/Anniversary
2. CAS: Pearls

I'm not sure if this really counts as CAS, simply because of the layers, but the intention really was to do a CAS card. The free cartridge in the CCR this week is Wedding Invitation. The sample card was fabulous, so I gave it a shot. I decided to turn it into an anniversary card instead.

All papers, except the blue glitter paper are Very Vanilla Stampin' Up paper. The inks I used were Vintage Photo and a brown sharpie. The embossing folders I used are D'vine swirls, Swiss dots, and Mary Ann (all cuttlebug folders).

Here you can see that the edges of each layer were inked in brown sharpie to provide contrast. The 10 was cut from DCWV glitter paper. You can tell the main back ground was embossed with Mary Ann, the Belly Band with D'Vine Swirls, and the circle with Swiss Dots. Each layer of the center focal point was popped up with thin foam tape as to not make it too tall.

Just a closer look at the pearls. A light shade of blue to set them off a little bit.

Just Relax and Enjoy your Retirement

Just a quick card I made for one of the ladies I used to work with. She is retiring this Friday.

All papers are scrap with a plain white card base. The image is from From the Heart Digital Art Stamps and is called Tropical chick. The tree and grass are colored with Stampin' Up ink and Stampin' Up blender pen. The check is colored with oil pencils and blended with rubbing alcohol. The chick has been popped off the page with foam tape. The sentiment "Just Relax" came with the stamp.

This part of the sentiment came from my brain. I started to use the sketch from I Heart Sketches

But didn't really adhere that closely too it. I guess my brain just wasn't going to be disciplined enough to follow a sketch today. I will enter it into the challenge anyway.

There's No Place Like Home

One of the girls that I worked with, is getting the chance to work from home so, I made her a we'll miss you card. The layout is from a sketch at Die Cuttin' Divas



Here is my interpretation:

The papers are scrap except for the background paper which is from Recollections. The sentiment was printed off the computer. The ruby slippers were cut from the Creative Sampler Cricut Cartridge. The scalloped oval was cut from the Cricut Craft Room Basics cartridge.

This is the inside of the card. The stamp is a Toto from Bugaboo stamps and colored with oil pencils. I wrote out the sentiment. Can't you tell, it's all crooked.  Oh, well.

There's Only One You

It's been a very bad week. I tried to go back to work. Didn't go se well. Ended up in the ER on Thursday. Will try again later. Oh well.

Anyway, this was just a quick and easy Father's Day card for my Father-In-Law. He has become my surrogate father since my father passed away. I miss my dad. Does it sound crazy to make a card for my dad and leave it at his grave on Father's Day? I've been thinking about it, but not sure what is the right thing to do. I'm not much of a flower person.  Oh, well, here's the card for the FIL:

It's cute, simple, easy, and to the point. The black and white bakers twine is from my stash. The ties were cut from the Paper dolls for Everyday Cricut cartridge. The sentiment is a stamp form Stampin' Up Vintage Verses. The baby clothes pins are also from my stash. The papers are from my scrap pile. 

I will be entering this into a couple challenges:

Birthday Turtles

Just a quick card using a new to me coloring technique. This will be entered into the Delightful Inspiration June Stamp of the Month Challenge.

All paper are scrap. The sentiment was sent to me in a RAK. I colored the image with colored pencil then blended with rubbing alcohol. Considering this is my first attempt, I'm pleased. Please feel free to let me know how you like it!

Bookmark/Tag

This will be entered into 2 challenges:
1. My Time to Craft: Bookmarks
2. The Outlawz: Paper A La Mode: Tags and labels

I'm going to show  pictures first then try to describe what I did.

As you can see, this bookmark can be used in 2 different ways: as a regular bookmark with the tassel hanging out of the book, or as a paperclip bookmark.

Ok, the nitty gritty. This bookmark measures 2.75" x 6.5". The fairy is from http://dulemba.blogspot.com/2007/10/coloring-page-tuesday-reading-fairy.html and is colored with a combination of sharpie marker, Stampin' Up marker and oil pencils. The image was printed and colored twice, once on the oval, and once of the flat bookmark. I did this so that the image could still be seen if for some reason the oval came off. The oval was inked in Ballet Blue ink from Stampin' Up. The quote is from Oscar Wilde. All papers are scrap.

Ok, I am going to try to describe how I made this.
1. Cut blue base bookmark.
2. Print fairy and quote onto white cardstock and cut 1/4 in smaller than blue cardstock.
3. Color Fairy.
4. Print fairy on white cardstock, cut out in oval shape, and color.
5. Hot glue small part of paperclip onto back of white bookmark.
6. Hot blue oval onto exposed part of paper clip, making sure not to glue the whole thing to the white base. (I put wax paper between the white base and the paper clip to prevent sticking).
7. Adhere to blue base.
8. Make tassel or use one that is pre-made. (I chose to make mine.)
9. Make beading and add to tassel then add to bookmark.

I hope this makes sense. I chose pink beading to match the fairy's pink dress.

Graduation Shape Card

Well, I have am back, though barely. My head is killing me and nothing I seem to do touches it. It took a very long time for me to get this card made. I knew what I wanted to do, but nothing was translating into something I was happy with. I finally came up with a card that I will be entering into 2 challenges:
1. LSP: congratulations graduates
2. Die Cuttin Divas: Shape Card

I have never tried to make a shape card out of words, so this took some configuring on the Cricut especially since I cut is out after the sentiment had already been printed off the computer. Here is the final product:

Obviously this is the front of the card. All papers were scrap except for the card base which is just plain white cardstock. The Crinkle ribbon is from LSP. Thanks, Karen!

Can't have a graduation card without the graduation cap. What do you think about the glitter paper tassel? I thought it was pretty cool. The cap was cut from the Cricut cartridge Paper Dolls for Everyday. Letters were cut from the Chalkboard Cricut Cartridge. It is the free cartridge in the Cricut Craft Room this week.

You also can't graduate without a diploma. This was also cut from the Paper Dolls for Everyday Cricut Cartridge. I added the crinkle ribbon for a little bit of flare.

Not a bad little card if I do say so myself. I hope you like it too.
